1999 concorde. in limp mode with check engine light on and speedometer wont work. also jumps when put in drive. replaced output speed sensor. didnt solve the problem. unhooked battery to reset the system. still no luck. had it scanned, codes came out p0500, p0371, and p0700. cant afford dealership or transmission shop. any suggestions?
You should also replace the input speed sensor, they should always be done in pairs and i have had both of them bad on numerous vehicles, hope this helps
Change both sensors at the same time. Once you change that, have the computers reset. That will take your transmission out of safe mode. But speedometer must work to keep transmission out of safe mode. Input sensor lets transmission know when to change gears. If it gets no signal at all it changes to safe mode 1st and 2nd gear. Which runs your RPMs really high. If you drove a lot with it likes this. Once sensors are changed. Check transmission fluid while its running and on flat ground, make sure you use the right transmission fluid, wrong one could cost you a transmission.
