Change the MAS mass air sensor they get clogged and can cause the symptoms you are describing a clogged sensor prevents the engine breathing properly causing a loss of power and an increase in fuel consumption replace it

Hi, Vauxhall Vectra 53 Plate 1800 SXi - alarm sounds without apparent reason, usually in the early hours ?? What may be the fault please ? Thank you

it can be a faulty battery in the alarm unit. when the battery is not charging for whatever reason it send a trigger and the alarm will set off. has been a problem on some vauxhalls over the years. would have it checked out as it can get worse.

What is causing a couple of second judder when accelerating away after changing from 2nd to 3rd and 3rd to 4th gear ?

it may be from failing engine mounts allowing the engine to misalign the drive shaft under acceleration and allowing problems in the cv joints or "U" joint

Vauxhall astra 1.6 sxi the car seems to run ok then losses power and cuts out iit

not said year could be the cam and crank sensor. also you not said what gear box you have auto or manual. auto its down to having a ecu problem with it being in limp mode. manual it will be the same but more manageable with your onwn gear changes.
