2002 E220 RADIO WILL NOT SWITCH ON. ALL FUSES CHECKED OK. I HAV A LIVE AND EARTH TO RADIO. I CANT REMOVE RADIO TO SEE IF FUSE THERE IS A FUSE IN REAR OF RADIO OR NOT.
You should have 2 positive power supplies to your radio...one always on, the other only on when ignition is in ON or ACC position. Hope this helps. There are sometimes inline fuses tucked up under dash.

there is usually a fuse in the rear of the radio itself, so i would remove radio and check if that fuse is ok, if it is then check for power to radio connection, always on power to keep the memory and ignition only power to actually power the radio and also check for the earth with a continuity test
have you checked the fuses?there is also a fuse at the rear of radio so remove radio to check this , if fuses are ok then while you have the radio out check that there is power getting to the radio and that the earth wire is going to earth
have you checked the fuse at the back of the radio ? If ok and has power to the radio then check the earth is ok, and the ignition on power is ok , if all these are ok then the fault lies within the radio
do you have a voltage meter, reversing is independent line, ignition to fuse to switch to light, follow the main wire to the rear lights you may find there is a brake in the wire, mostly go were there is a rubber joint covering or behind the seats at rear. would check to see if its live, reversing switch side is earth state. so check you have a good earth. some models had an extra earthing wire from the gear box to the shell of the underneath.
you need a test light to see if there is power and earth going to the horn when the switch is pressed,, if the live and earth are present you need a new horn if they or one of them are missing you will need totrace back from the horn to find either a broken wire or a faulty switch ,,, hope this helps
Horn and heater may be fuse related. The headrests have nothing to do with fuses. The switch is bad or going that way for the seat or the motors for the headrests are out.
The horn fuse spin it, or replace as corrosion from aluminum fuses cause problems. I suggest replacing them all with new copper barrel fuses. The blower motor fan is a strip fuse on the driver side strut mount in a tootsie roll sized case.
it probably shares a fuse with somthing else. best thing is to remove each fuse, one ata time and check them all.
If it aint the fuse, have you checked for a live feed at the lighter socket, in the centre at the base. be careful not to short circuit against the side of the socket.
if no live here , try to remove the socket assembly and check for live and earth at the plug. I think the ignition may have to be on for this to operate.
if you dont get even a pop or crack when turned on at first, check the radios memory on the read-out on the radio face and see if its on mute setting, and if this is not the case, there are 2 fuses, one controls memory power and the other controls audio output power, check both as if one fuse is out the other cant make the radio operate properly
The switch may not be making contact or wire to switch may have come off. If poss check voltage on the water pump for your rear screen. You may also have a bad earth.
Check all fuses for radio...In addition to the fuse in the fuse box, there could be inline fuses tucked up under dash or in rear of radio. There should be 2 live positive wires going to radio...one constant power, the other live when key is On or Acc..also check for good earth connection. Hope this helps.
