The driver side Air Conditioning vents blow warm air and the passenger side blows cold air. The AC is just on/off and there is no way to adjust the tempeature for the two sides like you see in higher end cars. I have turned off the driver side vents and angled the passenger vents in my direction just to get some cool air on my side of the car. Any ideas how to fix this?
It sounds like the control motor switching from hot to cold is stuck halfway in between the two temp settings. You will have to take it down and replace it, it is mounted under dash passenger side near the blower motor.
Check refrigerant level. One side cool other warm is symptomatic of this. I beat myself to death crawling under dash with one of those deals that has left/right control. My cheap guage that came with the can said it was in proper range, gave up under dash and added another can of refrigerant and was at upper end of range and that did the trick.
WRONG, you fooled yourself somewhere in your diagnosis. One evaporater means the system is either going to cool or its not. If your getting cold air in one half then the AC system is working, and you have aeither a blend door issue or an a problem with the controller. Its physically impossible to be a refridgerant charge issue in this case.
