Why does 2001 Chrysler sebring A/C cuts in and

More info required.. does it sputter..tick..smell like fuel. Are the tailpipes dirty. Is there lights on dash??? As much info as possible is always helpful. At this point it sounds. Like charging system..fuel system.. like a filter. Does battery light go on and off intermittently

Two or three bolts at the exhaust manifold. Heat them to get them off. Cut the rest off with a saws-all. Don't cut the rubber hangers, reuse them. Weld or use hose clamps to re install.

The cost to repair would depend on the problem.
Code 172 is for a problem with the fuel mixture or the O2 sensor.
The sensor on bank one is telling the computer the fuel mixture is too rich and the computer can not cut back on the fuel to make it switch to too lean.
You would need to watch the operation of the O2 sensors with a scanner to see if one of them is faulty, or if the problem is something else in the fuel system.
If the engine is not reaching normal temp, are you sure the cooling system is full of coolant and has no air pockets ?

put battery on charge first then try again if still no joy then call the dealer as the immobilisor could have cut in ,try the spare key as well
