Recalls are only for issues items that are considered to be able to cause bodily harm / life threatening. A warped dashboard won't qualify. One way you can see if you can get this fixed for free is to look up the consumer protection laws and go from there

What is the service schdule? I bought my Windstar

Hello fellow Windstar owner. I just took my 2001 Windstar into a local Ford Dealer here in Chicagoland to have my rear axle inspected. I can tell you that FORD is taking this recall issue very seriously and with that you will not have any trouble having your vehicle inspected and then repaired. FORD goes by your VIN (Vehicle Identification Number) as a means to track everything like this recall issue. By the way, FORD really impressed me with the repair that was done to my rear axle and I am very picky (I am a former auto mechanic). You will not have any problems with FORD taking a look at your 2003 Windstar. Just call your local FORD dealer and ask for the service department. Tell them you would like your rear axle inspected per the national recall. Please remember to rate my solution. Thanks!

Is there a recall for the crank shaft for the Kia Sorento 2003?

There is a problem with the bolt that holds the Harmonic Balancer on the crank shaft and Kia will have to replace it. Be forewarned it may have to be done more than once so if it happens to it a second time stick to your guns and make them cover it. The bolt will shear off and the balancer will freewheel if you are lucky if you are not luck then a host of other problems can occur from crankshaft damage to a damaged fan shroud and radiator if it works it's way completely off but most likely it will just spin or damage the crank shaft. This should not be a DYI because if you do it and it comes off again you have no recourse if they know you have already done the work so this would be a silence is golden time. This affects several year models of the 3.5. You can find the service letter on the internet I had it but it's not that hard to find . You have to remember there is a difference between a RECALL and a SERVICE LETTER. The Recall will be sent out to all the owners the service letter is only for the dealership shop so unless you happen to have the vehicle in there for something else they may or may not mention it. A good Service Writer will catch it and suggest it done and you would be well advised to have it done because it will fail at any time and leave you stranded. Believe me there are lot of Service letters out on almost every vehicle it is the way the Car makers say oops we have a problem shops let's try to fix it before it becomes lawsuit material and they are backed into a corner where the problem is life threatening and they are forced to issue an official recall which will cost them a lot of money and bad publicity. Hope this answers your question as I tend to be long winded but knowledge is power when dealing with Dealerships.

I need help

Before you do this, call your dealer. There was a recall for the heater and a/c hoses going to the back. A recall has no requirements that you have to have bought it new, it goes as long as the vehicle is in service and has not had the recall done.

Cal the dealer and give them the serial number and they can check it on the phone.

Hope this helps

I have a 1999 vw diesel beetle-won't run when it is cold outside. 5th time back to vw dealer and over 3,ooo.oo dollars later and they now say a rodent made a nest around the electronic control module. New...

it could be some of the temperature sensors or something that is temperature dependant. what about maybe your fuel pump? it sounds like its maybe something that expands when it is cold and has difficulty to operate. this leads me to assume it could be the diesel pump. i hope this helps.
