Its the fuel pump relay circuit, could be wiring,relay' or pcm put a relay in cheapest & easiest, key up truck & listen for click to locate pump relay should be in under hood fuse box

THEY SHOULD BE MOLDED BUT IF YOU CRANK THE ENGINE THE ONE THAT FLUID COMES OUT WHILE CRANKING SHOULD BE ON TOP. AND IF THE COOER AT THE BOTTOM IT DOES NOT MATTER
I need a bit more information I take it this a 4x4 cause when you talk about transfer case it means 4x4 and am I to understand you replaced the transmission and transfer case and tail shaft?
P0230 - Fuel Pump Primary Circuit Malfunction

- Blown Fuel Pump fuse - Open Fuel Pump Monitor Circuit - Faulty Fuel Pump Relay - Damaged ECM.
P0230 Description
The Engine Control Module (ECM) provides ignition positive voltage to the coil side of the fuel pump relay. When the ignition switch is first turned ON, the ECM energizes the fuel pump relay, which applies power to the fuel pump. The ECM enables the fuel pump relay as long as the engine is cranking or running, and crankshaft reference pulses are received. If no crankshaft reference pulses are received, the ECM de-energizes the fuel pump relay after 2 seconds. The ECM monitors the voltage on the fuel pump relay control circuit. you know since it's a 4x4 the front and rear axle HAVE to be the same.
