2007 Subaru Outback wagon headlights

2007 Subaru Outback wagon. Right headlight went out, replaced it and it was noticeably different in its lighting ability than the left. Week later, left goes out, I buy a set of good "nightvision" style bulbs and this time I replace both sides at once. Driving home tonight it looked as if I had just the daytime running lights on. Brights work great, fogs work, but the low beams are so low we barely lit up the back end of the car in front of us. I was very careful in the replacing procedure. It is almost as if the DRL are on but not upping the light output when I turn on the nighttime lights.
Can't figure this one out.Thanks.

Left headlights

Check your connections at the wiring harness going to headlights for corrosion, sounds like high resistance somewhere, also make sure your ground wires are secure. It wouldn't be the alternator or the battery would be dead and not start the engine. Also shouldn't be any condensation in your head light assembly's or will cause bulbs to blow prematurely.

2005 Outback SW; in last 4 years have had no less than 8 headlight bulbs (including original equip); our 2002 never had this issue. Dealer feigns ignorance of any widespread problem. At $11/each it's...

check all ground connctions around/near the headlights for tightness corrosion, also have someone check voltage with headlights on , maybe system is being over charged by the Alternator and blowing the bulbs..

Need to replace a headlight assembly for a 2006 Subaru Outback.

No, you just remove the radiator grill and the side marker light and the headlight housing bolts and it comes out. Not a real hard job and is Real straight forward. Good luck and have a good day.

Low beam headlight is out, doesn't look like a fuse

Check the Headlight Switch. If your headlights come on automatically check the headlight sensor and its associated relay.

2007 subaru outback headlight problem

Each head lamp also has it's own relay, you can rule the relay out by swapping the left head light relay with the right head light relay & see if the problem moves to the other side...The relays are also in the same under hood fuse box.
