Does anyone know how to manually close the Audi TT roof? The electrics have stopped working, Need to get the roof up asap as am parked in the middle of Liverpool city centre!
Yes if you go into the trunk you will find a small passage to get to the pump there will be a little T- shaped knob on top turn this untill it stops and you will be able to lift the top to close it.

You need to pump the hydraulics manually, to do this first sit on boot and press boot button for a few seconds without allowing the boot to open. Partially allow boot to open, manually push boot all the way open and closed a dozen or so times to manually pump hydraulics. I had same prob, this sounds extreme but does work and wont cost you a penny.
Look in owners manual,it will show you how to raise/lower roof with tool end of dash driver side
Once you have the tool the best way to reset roof is to manualy lower it and lock rear cover
Two people helps to lower as you have to lift front of roof and lift rear
When rear metal cover is unlocked push roof fully down and lock cover
The roof should then work with the switch
I believe that the motor went bad on you that lets the roof to open or close but also you could have a connection problem or short in the wires. Have you in the past heard the motor move the roof open or close or never noticed it at all?
plastic lining on runners tend to crack and lift causing roof to stick. can remove plastic but roof will rattle when closed. to close manually, open small cover on roof lining in front of sunroof and crank roof closed with an3mm allen key.
I had problem with the flaps staying open, pilot error you have to have the engine running and it's fine wish the dealer told me that. The only problem I have is when the roof has been down for a while , when it's then closed there is a small bump that appears on the near side.
wont close or open automatically
