I am trying to order a part, but do not know the name. The vehicle is a 2001 Mercedez Benz CLK 430. The part is on the front bottom exterior of the bumper. The part is fiber glass. It easily hits the road, and did, so I would like to replace the item.

I believe you do not remove the lens - rather you open the trunk and find the back of the lamp (you'll have to remove the panel in front of it) and remove and change the bulbs from inside the trunk.
When jump starting any vehicle always hook up the positive to the battery first and then hook the ground(black) lead to some metal surface on the engine. This way you do not throw sparks near the battery.
Alarm system is detecting a fault. It could be a door latch sensor gone wrong, and it should show a door ajar light while driving, or the hood or trunk sensor disconnected. Most alarms are designed to "arm", even if it detects an open door.
You can get the code from any Mercedes dealer around you.
Or you can have the code by taking the radio out and take the serial to a radio repair shop and they can get the code from the serial.
If the radio is a factory fitted it would be a problem for you to remove except you take the car to a specialize workshop otherwise check properly there could be one or two pin or screw holding it.
The best place to get an estimate is from the dealer of the maker of the vehicle. They will know better than anyone what the problem is. Btw it is a mercedes.
Hi Joe here,
The problem with your a/c is a sensor. Most likely the pressure sensor. You need to have the vehicle scanned to find out which sensor it is.
