Freeze out plugs --where did that come from ? if over heating -check fuses-fluid level --water pump --coolant fans-coolant itself ----coolant sensor ---check oil if over full and chocolate milky color an have a possible head gasket blown --valvetrain damage ---
If the cooling fans are running and the radiator is full and clean you may have a blown head gasket or cracked head. Does it blow white smoke out the exhaust if yes it's a head gasket and the heads will have to come off, is the belt turning the water pump?. That's all there is I hope this helps. Take care.

CSP, It sounds like you have a vacuum leak that is causing the IAC ( idle air control ) motor to move in and out trying to control the idle. Check all vacuum hoses on the engine for disconnect, cracked or damaged. If the hoses crack when you bend them, they need to be replaced.
Let me know what you find and we can go from there.

Have you unhooked the battery since you put the freon in? If not, do it.

Make sure the air in the cooling system is bled out,and make sure the cooling fans are coming on,and going off on there own.If they come on,they have to go off too, when it cools down.If the cooling fans do not come on,bled the cooling system, and replace the coolant sensor, this tells the computer to activate the cooling fan relays. Also check the fuse, and the cooling fan relay.
