P 0733 code what does that mean

You could be more specific with the issue:
  • Transmission type (Manual/Automatic)?
  • How did this issue appear?
  • Does the car change gears normally?
Your car seems to be an automatic transmission model?
So the fault code is "Gear 3 Incorrect Ratio"

This means that you may have:
  • Low transmission fluid level or dirty transmission fluid
  • Faulty or dirty shift solenoids
  • Transmission mechanical problems
  • Transmission hydraulic control circuit issue

Transmission

check the fluid level in the gear box. Too much and not enough will cause overheating. have a pressure test done on the gear box to check for internal problems . Change the transmission fluid. . Have the bands and clutches adjusted to ensure that they are not slipping. If you are pulling trailers /caravans then the weight and speed will be factors that overheat the transmission oil. Run fault codes to check for sensors solenoids and servo faults.

Volvo S80 Faul code 000C

Hi there:
Diagnostic trouble code (DTC) TCM-000C is stored if the control module detects that the vehicle speed and engine speed (RPM) signals do not correspond with the programmed values and that an "incorrect" gear is being used in relation to the calculated gear. This is because solenoid S2 is stuck in open or closed position.

Diagnostic Codes: 000C, 002A, 002B, P0733, P0734, P0756
Tests/Procedures:
1. Clear codes from the Transmission Control Module (TCM).
2. With fluid hot, check transmission fluid for quality and level.
3. Test drive the vehicle. Accelerate from 20-60 MPH when in geartronic mode, gear 4. While doing this, watch input and output speed sensors with a scan tool.
4. If the code returns, the transmission is slipping, and the input and output speed sensors are updating, the problem is internal to the transmission.
5. If transmission is replaced, test ATF for coolant contamination per TNN 43-48. Replace radiator if necessary.

Potential Causes: Transmission Mechanical Problem

Tech Tips:
TCM-002B 4th gear. Incorrect gear ratio. This code sets when the actual gear ratio deviates by more than 10% of what is programmed into the TCM.
TCM-002A 3rd gear. Incorrect gear ratio P0756 - TCM-000C - Shift solenoid S2, hydraulic malfunction If the transmission is replaced, be sure the mating surfaces between the engine and transmission are bare metal and clean. If not, the engine may not start after assembly.

Hope this helps; also keep in mind that your feedback is important and I`ll appreciate your time and consideration if you leave some testimonial comment about this answer.

I have a 2001 vovlo s80 with the codes p1618 p0705 po733 how can i fix

PO705 is Transmission Range Sensor Circuit Malfunction. PO733 is Incorrect 3rd Gear Ration Information. P1618 means that the ECU and the TCM are not communicating properly. PO705 & PO733 can be related to P1618. Check the wiring going to the transmission. Look for a pinched wire from the car being put on a rack or possibly an accident you may have had recently. If you can find no problems with the wiring or connections then it is time to see a professional transmission expert. It may just be that the transmission has an internal problem.

My 1999 Volvo S80 is slipping between 2nd and 3rd gear. And sometimes when i pull off it revs high causing it to take off real slow.

Hate to be the bearer of bad news, but when your trans starts slipping, it is failing and will eventually not move the car at all-you need to drive it so that it doesn't slip, which means light on the gas, nursing it until you decide how to proceed. Make sure it is not low on fluid, since that'll hasten the ultimate failure-sorry, not a happy thing.

2000 durango 4.7 v8 tranny slip or something. Plzz help!!!

First thing you want to do, is get all that additive stuff out of there & get new filter & proper fluid in there. Mopar ATF 4. then disconnect battery for minute or 2 & start fresh as far as storing trouble codes goes. Chrysler transmissions don't react well to improper fluids or additives. If it starts to act up again, or check engine light comes on, have it scanned for codes at Autozone, or Pep boys & see what codes if any, come up. Don't prolong any transmission problem, as it will only cost you more in the end, if you don't take care of it right away.

1996 saturn sl1 transmission slips in 3 and 4 gears.

The fluid and speed sensor did not really do anything to solve your slipping problem. If it slipped before it could be that there are chips/breaks in the teeth on the gears or it could be that the clutch is not connecting when it gets into higher gears. May need a new tranny or clutch.
