Brake Warning lights on

*Hard to Push:
-Check the vacuum line to the brake boost. Is it still connect to it?
-If Not. Plug it or connect to and now run the engine and try to brake you should fell smooth or softer than before.
*Brake light warning light stay on:
-Check Brake fluid level. If low top to line indicator "Full"
-The Emergency brake switch is not completely return or the release handle doesn't touch the switch. Or it's broken.
-You need to use hand to push the switch and if the light is off
then you need to adjust to closer.
If still no ON then replace the switch.

Yes it may be the wires are shorting or its actually the problem with instrument cluster.
Also get the vehicle scanned for any error codes stored in computer this will confirm whether is short circuit issue or actual problem:------

Hello tucky56, The ABS light stands for, " Anti-lock brake system ", it is a saftey feature designed to try and prevent cars from skidding when a driver panics and slams on the brakes. Although your normal brakes should still work, ( as long as your brake warning light isn't on ), the manufacturer recommends you take the car in to an authorized dealer and have it checked right away.
The service light being on is a reminder that it's time for your vehicle to have scheduled maintenance performed.

If the brake pads were worn enough to activate the warning light the sensor or sensors must be replaced. There is no reset for this.

I had EXACTLY the same problem with a friends car i was doing work on.
Your problem is almost certainly a faulty brake light switch. This is a common fault and brings on the dash lights you describe. The switch is located just above the brake pedal and is easy to fit. If you can get the OBD codes read...My guess is it will show up this switch as faulty.

You Can probably accomplish this yourself if you have a brake pad warning light or ABS/ASC light on you may need a BMW tech to reset the system to complete the job.

I did a complet brake job on my 2004 Chevrolet Impala about two weeks ago, and i still have warning light on. Thw system is working great. So how do I turn off the warning Lights, Traction off light, Brake light, and in warning center Low brake fuild?
