The D4 light is a transmission code light for those cars probbly reading the speedometer going out and the check engine light the same. Have the codes checked or simply replace it. sounds like the speed sensor

Probably the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS). Cheap and easy to change (see ebay), once found! Probably on top of gearbox, to rear.

Possible speed sensor. I know the speed sensors are a problem with hondas. A new speed sensor is about $200 and can be easily replaced. It bolts to the top of the transmission on the firewall side. Do NOT buy an e-bay one. They are only about $30 but are junk

if you can charge the battery and drive it for a while then sounds like the altenator has failed and is not re-charging the battery, good way to test is to charge the battery, start the car and turn the light on, if everything is dimm or the motor dies there is little to no charge voltage, and will require altenator work

Its probably your speed sensor mounted on the back side of your transmission on top of the final drive gear. Its the sensor/plug located just under the shift linkage. Make sure its bolted down tight and check for any loose connections.

i have 91 honda prelude.and the speedometer is not working properly.what else can i find help.and look for to fix this problem
