One week ago today my 95 Maxima (160,800 miles) developed a bad mis at all driving and acceleration speeds. At first it cleared up by itself but came back the next day. I replaced the # 1 injector with ne from a salvage yard but still had # 3 sounding bad. So I went and replaced all 6 injecters with new ones (BWD). Still had the mis-fire. With th e engine running, I disconnected the coil on # 5 and there was no change. So I replace the coil and all 6 spark plugs (NGKs). After that the CEL came on (code P1320) and it ran worse. Disconnected coils on 1, 3, and 5 which made no difference. Just for grins, I disconnected 1, 3, and 5 all at the same time (engine running) and still no difference. I have since replace the remaining 2 coils so that 1, 3, and 5 are new. I STILL have the problem. Car was running awesome, no smoke from anywhere so I don't think its a compression issue.
It is a 95 with individual coil packs that mount directly on the sparkplugs. The feuk ratio is indeed too rich due to 3 of 6 cylinders not firing. Prior to last week, the car ran perfectly...It is a 95 with individual coil packs that mount directly on the sparkplugs. The feuk ratio is indeed too rich due to 3 of 6 cylinders not firing. The 1995 does not have sparkplug wires. Each plug has it's own coil which mounts to the top of it. I have replace the 1, 3, and 5 coils with brand new ones to no avail. The 1995 does not have sparkplug wires. Each plug has it's own coil which mounts to the top of it. Hello, the problem there is not a good spark in the compression chamber,so that it will develop a bad miss firing and you will not have a good acceleration.I advice you to change change all the spark plugs wire ,the wire lose the spark.Hope that help you

If you have not repaired the #4 mis-fire problem then re-setting or clearing the code will only last until the mis-fire is detected again (maybe only minutes or even seconds depending how bad the mis-fire is), and then the MIL (malfunction indicator light) will be right back on. Try changing the #4 spark plug and ignition wire first, if this does not solve the problem then there might be something more seriously wrong with your engine.
If you do not have a scanner to reset the MIL, then you can reset the MIL by dis-connecting the battery for three minutes and then re-connect the battery, and all of the data trouble codes should be cleared.
there may be a software update for the powertrain control module for mis-fire monitor. check with your local dealer. but if thats not the case, these engines are known at least in my experience of having the heads crack between the valves and cause mild mis-fires. try compression testing all the cylinders and performing a leakdown test on them as well.
A BLINKING ENGINE LIGHT INDICATES AN ENGINE CYLINDER IS MIS-FIRING. HAVE THE TROUBLE CODES TESTED TO DETERMINE WHICH ONE. DO NOT DRIVE THIS WAY AT HIGH SPEEDS AS IT MAY OVERHEAT THE EXHAUST SYSTEM AND CREATE A FIRE HAZARD.
The injector could definitely trigger a misfire code, but you also mentioned that you had a mass airflow sensor code , that code code be responsible for te sluggish moment of the vehicle and rpm going up and down. However if you have a misfire onCyl#6 and the coil and the plug is good the ONLY other thing to cause a mis-fire would be the injector. To check the injector get a NOID light, you can get one at almost any auto-parts place. To use unplug injector plug from the bad injector and connect it to NOID light the light should have a steady PULSE/ligt flickering. If light flickers fine then injector is bad and will need to be replaced. If light doesn't flicker or flickers intermittently then you may have a bad wiring to that injector. Check if wiring is good, then you may have a bad cam sensor or sensor gear. Good Luck and contact if you need more help. Thanks for using FIX YA
You have a mis-fire in the ignition system, have Kragen Auto or any chain parts store run a quick test (it's free) to get the code, it will tell you which cylinder is mis-firing.
