Central Locking comes in and out.

Central locking doesn't work. My windows and windshield wipers only work when both front doors are unlocked. Occasionally, all the doors will respond by locking or unlocking to the passenger side door but rarely does that happen. I had to take off my gas door cover because it stayed locked all the time. Any help would be appreciated.

Electrical problem. Have it checked from the fuse area right to the doors.

Testimonial: "Thanks... I knew at some point I would need to check the wiring diagram and brush up on how the central locks work to start trouble shooting. "

Wipers stopped working & central locking system stopped working on my 2003 range rover

The alarm and the central locking are all part of the remote keying system. You will not fix it with changing fuses because it is likely the ECU needs to be be reset. Unfortunately, it will require a visit to an authorised workshop to do this

Have a 2006 beetle convertible with several problems unknown if they are related. 1) driver side window sometimes will not roll down when door is opened causing damage to top 2) car will not turn over for...

inside the mechanical lock (The part that actualy holds the door shut when you close it) there is a switch that informs the control unit that the lock is either locked or unlocked.
These switches fail sometimes, when this happens the control unit is not aware that you have opened the door, and therefor will not wind the window down slightly.
This is also likely to be the cause of problem # 3 , door will not lock. I fthe faulty switch is not informing the control unit that the door is closed, the central locking will not try to lock the door (because it thinks the door is still open).
The switch is integral with the lock unit, and they are not easy things to replace either.
as for the wipers and engine fault, there could be a number of different possible faults here, would have to be looked at.
