Your key switch could be bad, leave the gate up and then check to see if power is coming out of the switch. if not you can by pass the switch entirely, or replace. the motor is only three 1/4 inch bolts attached to the tailgate. to check that you can get two lengths of wire and plug into the wire chassis going into the motor and then use a car battery to roll the window down or up by switching the polarity. just becareful not to hurt yourself.

Remove the access panel on the tailgate and test to see if there is power to the motor. if there isn't check the fuse, wire and the safety switch either located on the bottom of the handle or the drivers side latch. if there is power to the motor replace the motor, it is the same as the passanger door window motor

1988 brono rear electric window will not work , How do I access the motor , dosnt appear to be an access panel on tail gate ?

Drop the tailgate, remove the access panel on the inside of the tailgate. if the motor is turning but not doing anything, you should be able to pull the window out by hand which will allow access to the motor. support the window with a saw horse and one of those noodle things. To remove the motor you will have drill two holes in the tailgate. The replacement gear kit that I purchased had a template that you place over the area that needed to be drilled.
The holes allow a a socket on a 1/4 drive extension reach the bolts
holding the motor to the assembly. normally the only thing that is bad is the crush cylinders inside the gear assembly. I purchased my 1988 Bronco new in 1988 and have replaced the same parts at least 4 times. Hope this helps.

I have a 88 bronco and my rear window will not go down. i have tried running a wire from battery to motor for hte rear window and it wont work i just want the window down right now and will replace motor...

take the window regulator out and see if you can manually move it to the down position, if you cannot them try and connect that regulator to another window motor, and get it to the down position that way. then reinstall the regulator and window, good luck

Is it a fuse if both driver and passenger windows of 1988 Ford Bronco don't work?

Not necessarily. By the year of the vehicle it could be switches or possibly motors. Best bet would be switches. Check to see if you have 12 volts before and after the switches.

Power window broke, stuck up need temporaily lower then back up

you can disconnect the motor and the gear and the window should slide down.. if you can't access that.. you can force the gears to turn

Tailgate window motor

I believe almost all broncos from 85 or 86 up to at least 94 should be the same.
