Recall on this problem

I finally received a recall notice from Hyundai for this problem after 5 years of dealing with this problem! Yes, there are connectors under the seat that can be taped together, but the problem is your air bags may not deploy in an accident! Call Hyundai, inquire about the air bag light coming on and the recall, also there is a site for you to go to and register your vin #. It's:

www.idriveonline.com

Just register with your email address and fill out your vehicle info and it will show all the services and recalls that are needed.

Sir my car engine start after daseboard airbag light on wthat problem?

Occasionally this will reset ghost codes. May or may not help, can't hurt. If not, you could try Autozone and see if they can extract the fault code.

I don't know how many models were affected, but owners of original 2001 Elantras are receiving silent recall notices for airbag rewiring underneath the passenger and driver's seat (controlling the side airbags). The reason being anything that is left under the seat can knock the connection loose. I had this happen several years ago and the dealer simply reconnected it. Then last Fall I received a notice stating they are installing a new wiring harness or some such thing to prevent this problem, which evidently has been common. Don't try to repair an airbag light problem yourself. Call Hyundai USA or your dealer and ask if this problem might apply.

I have a 2004 Ford Explorer and it has a crack in the applique. I NEVER received a recall notice about this problem . I contacted a Ford dealer in my area who informed me there was a recall but it is no...

Sami, the applique cracking is a comon occurance for that model year. There was never a recall on that component, however there was a technical service bulletin regarding how to repair the concern. Technical service bulletins do in fact tell us dealers quickly how to repair a concern, but unfortunatly when they issue a tsb, it does not increase the waranty coverages. As far as for it being a recall, recalls are for safety issues only, they do not expire and transfer from one owner to the next, regardless of age. Customer satisfaction programs however do have time and mileage limits as they are repainrg the concern for your satisfaction. i can not remember if there was a program on that concern or not, im thinking not though....All manufacturers follow these approximate guidlines. If you call Ford customer service (800-241-3673) they can tell you any recalls you may have and the exact date they mailed out any notices to you regarding recalls..i know this is of litle consilation, but at least now you know a litle more about it.....

I would like to know does the recall have a certian time limit.because i received my recall notice last year but did"nt take it in.but now my starters gone is it to late.

I am not aware of any statute of limitations for defective merchandise involved in a NTSA recall. If the recall involved the starter or any part of the electrical system supplying power to the starter, I would call the dealer.
