When you break in new pads sometime they will screech and have a little bit of a burt smell. However if after 100 miles, they are still doing that, check your hardware. If it is flimsy or brittle, replace them, sand down your pads if they are still good, and pu lube on the top and bottom off the brake pad, ( where the pads and the hardware connect) you can e-mail me if you need me to explain it further.

Hi,
I'll be willing to bet your car sounds like mine... ha.
Brake pads are designed such that when the liner or pad thickness is too thin, it'll let you know by making this type of noise. It's time to get brake pads put on.
Hope this helps.
If you have new pads and rotors there is an anti squeal application paste. You put it on the "back" of each pad and let it set up for about 20 minutes. That "may" fix your problem. Ever since they removed the asbetos from brake pads and shoes they have been squealing. You are not alone. I hear brand new cars leaving the sales lot with squealing brakes.
You will be needing to replace the brake pads very soon. the pads have a metal tab mounted to them that will actually make contact with the brake rotor when the pads wear to a certain point...this makes a loud screech everytime you brake, and sometimes when you dont, to let the driver know that the brake pads are worn out.
