SOUND LIKE SPEEDOMETER DRIVE GEAR OR PROBLEM IN GEAR BOX.

Your speed reader may have came loose while you was changing the parts.

first check the alternator charging proper and battery terminals arent corroded

Check connectors,pins grimping force,bad contact between pins in main plug connector(abs unit)or connectors near pilar A left.

The gear is stripped either on the speedometer or at the tranny.

my Saab 9-5 is being dumb like that to, i went to the Saab dealer and they gave me a plug saying it was that was wrong but they never told me where it goes nore how to fix it... so i have a plug that is just sitting here anyone know what im talking about?

Consider having the Direct Ignition Module checked. These are notorious for shutting down due to an acknowledged poor design; interior unit overheating & oil leaking, that can result in the car shutting down without warning & in some cases, electrical fires. Saab issued a recall on this for model years 2000-02. Replacement is simple (4 bolts & electrical connector) but can cost $250-$500 if done by urself or close to $1000 at a dealer. - Spooky0508
