Saab '02 9-3 "electrical"problem

I don't know what is wrong with my car. While driving, all of a sudden the speedometer goes to 0 and all warning lights come on, the brake warning light, abs brake warning light, the swerving car light (don't know what that's called), and sometimes the main engine failure light. Then several minutes later, all of a sudden the speedometer starts working again and all failure lights go out. What is going on? This has happened about 2-4 times a day for the past few days. Any ideas?

Cuts off without warning

Consider having the Direct Ignition Module checked. These are notorious for shutting down due to an acknowledged poor design; interior unit overheating & oil leaking, that can result in the car shutting down without warning & in some cases, electrical fires. Saab issued a recall on this for model years 2000-02. Replacement is simple (4 bolts & electrical connector) but can cost $250-$500 if done by urself or close to $1000 at a dealer. - Spooky0508
