General wire

It could be a melted light switch due to poor contact causing high resistance and heat at the connector.
A melted plug and terminals would require replacement of the switch and the "Pigtail" plug with new wires that need to be soldered in.

Wiring harness 1993 jeep cherokee headlights

Melted wires indicate a heavy load or a short circuit.
If you're having no other issues and the headlights work, it'll most likely just be a heavy load.
Speculation here, but being a Jeep it may very well be running the full headlight circuit load through the switch instead of utilising a relay system to reduce switch load.
Incorporating a couple of relays may solve your underlying issue.
To fix the contact issue you currently have with the wire, you may need to replace the plug. It depends what's actually wrong with the wire and connector it's attached to. Sandpaper, a file or an Emery board can improve electrical contact on the plug surface, but if the problem is the wire, it may need to be soldered or shortened, or the plug replaced.

LHD vs RHD parts:
Most LHD switchgear will fit a RHD model of the same car. It's mainly mechanical items and trim that differentiate a RHD and LHD car.
So if you know what you're ordering, there's no reason you can't buy the LHD part.
The headlight switch and plug are good examples of this.

I have a melted wire coming from the back plug on my headlight switch . green and white wire. i also have 3 melted wires going to my trunck lid . from my lr tail light . dont know what to do . can u help ...

The problem is a short to ground in your running lights circuit. From your description, it seems likely that the short is somewhere in the wiring to your lr tail light. You need to replace those wires all the way from the tail light to the switch, and that should solve the original problem.

98 Dodge 4x4, headlights stay on and on bright even if switch is off. Tail lights are off, suspect daytime driving light problem??

I would suspect the wiring to the headlight switch is melted. Take the panel off and look where the plug goes onto the switch.

My headlights won't come on. I replaced the headlight switch about a month ago. I went to Autozone to see if another switch would work and it didn't. What could I do to fix the problem. I have a 1991 Ford...

Did you check the wiring when you replace the switch? Some times the plug that you plug into the light will be melted or burnt. I know cause I had 2 - 5.0 stangs and both did the samething. Is the car equip with fog lights? If so I would disconnect them. I found that the fog lights on my 89 gt cause the head light switch to over heat and melt. On both I had to repair the wiring at the plug.

ALL BREAK LIGHTS NOT WORKING

Have you checked your brake light fuse? If it is good do your rear turn signals work? If you have turn signal and no brake lights it is probably the turn signal switch these are a common problem and your power for your brake lights goes through your turn signal switch. Sometimes it is actually the hazard switch that melts but this can not be serviced alone. If you have no rear turn signals and no break lights it could still be the turn signal switch but is more likely to be a wiring problem in the rear usually trailer wiring T connections. Chiltons has wiring diagrams in there manuals but they are not always accurate. Let me know if I can help you further and please rate.

2002 Alero defogger

A common thing to fial on these- assumning the grid is ok, and wires are still attched to grid, is the rear def / antenna module. It is behind rt. rear quarter trim panel. The modules burn up, and also melt the connector. the module and connector would need to be replaced.
