    how are the speaker wires ran to the back speakers? Under the headliner or under carpet?

You remove any of the trim that is contacting the headliner,remove light in the center,remove visors and any hooks that are there to hang things on ,Most of your trim has push in retainers handles and hooks,seat belts should have screws inthem.

That year you probably have a 5.7 or 5.0 motor. You can find the engine size by getting your VIN and calling the dealer. They can tell you from either the 8th or 10th number in the VIN

2001 GMC Sierra truck ext cab 4X4 - the fuel gauge will go to empty just after I fill the tank until it gets down to about 1/3 full
replace the fuel sender unit. I don't know why they go bad, but once you do, it should fix the problem.
