SOURCE: radio is getting a lot of static

Sounds like either a bad radio, or your speakers have gone bad. Do they sound alright with the CD player? If so, you have eliminated the speakers. They do also have problems with the antenna cables themselves

SOURCE: my 1995 ford ranger pick up speedometer, radio,

On the ford ranger wiper motor not working, this is how u fix it. I am a licenced autobody mechanic for mercedes and my son bought a ford ranger and of course the wipers were not working-neither did the dome light and door chime.I told my son too replace all fuses ,switch and motor. And still nothing.Remove radio there is a pcm in behind- ours was unpluged. When we plugged it in the door bell would not shut off and the dome light stayed on. In stead of unplugging the pcm remove the light if wd40 does not work on the door latches. And to stop the door bell ringing remove the plastic cover around the ignition and their is a single wire with a blue connector just remove the wire it is the wire closest to the key and tape up the end and problem solved guarenteed . my email is [email protected] I will walk u through it .

SOURCE: radio in 88 lincoln town car doesn't pick up

Probably bad antenna wire at the antenna itself. Try plugging a piece of bare wire into the antenna hole (the 1/8" hole in the center) on radio, you should get something, hissing or some sound.

Cd player work but no radio

Assuming the vehicles antenna is intact and in one piece, check the antenna connection behind the radio. If the antenna is connected behind the radio, there could possibly be a problem with the radio's tuner (internally). The only way to properly diagnose this problem is to place a radio that is known to work into the vehicle (simply to test) and check the radio reception. If the radio reception is improved and working, you know the problem lies within the radio itself.

If it still does not work, there is a problem with the antenna on the vehicle (disconnected, damaged, cut, etc.)

Why does my 2008 Ford Ranger radio work well on FM but Am reception is poor?

Try checking the wire connection of the antenna to the back of the radio. Outside the car, make sure the antenna is tightly attached to the base .

Where is the power steering fluid reservoir and the antenna control

power steering pump reservoir is located on the drivers side of the engine ( up front ) right behind the power steering pump.
the antenna control wire should be connected to the radio and when the radio is powered on it sends a signal to the antenna relay that in turn activates the antenna motor.

Radio fades in and out...where is the antenna?

The antenna is part of the back glass. The antenna wires to pick the reception up are the same ones that defrost your rear window in the glass. You can check the connections behind the back "C" pillar posts. If the grids are broken this will reduce your reception.

Common problem... first, the antenna isn't connected directly to the radio... sometimes the junction points will crack and separate... second, sometimes the radios, radio tuner will go bad. if you have a Cherokee (not a Grand Cherokee) check you passenger side kick panel (location of a common antenna connection weak point) . Some genius placed a spring in the connection... just pull the spring out, reconnect and tape the connection together... Let me know if this helped at all... if the connections are all good, you will have to replace the radio... but, from what you described you wont have to...
