Audi A4 replace the brake light bulb - 2005 UK Convertible

Having removed the small lower access panel and removing the lower screw which holds the sealed light unit ( fixed to outer bodywork ) I still cant fully get acces to the bulbs. Seems like if I try to apply any pressure to remove the unit then something will break !

The complete light unit would appear to be fixed at a secondary point on the bodywork where there is no obvious access from inside the boot - Only option looks like removing the boot lining ....want to avoid this if I'm missing something simple

Thanks for any advice you can give

  1. Remove the hubcap or center cap.
  2. Loosen but do not remove the hex collar bolt.
  3. Loosen but do not remove the wheel lug bolts.
  4. Raise and safely support the vehicle.
  5. Loosen all, and remove all but one of the CV joint to stub axle bolts retaining the halfshaft to the transaxle flange. If necessary have an assistant hold the tire, or remove the tire, install two of the lug bolts and have an assistant hold a suitable and sturdy 3 foot (1 meter) prytool between the lug bolts to prevent the axle from spinning.
  6. If not previously removed, remove the front wheels.
  7. Remove the remaining CV joint to stub axle bolt and remove the halfshaft from the transaxle drive flange and support it out of the way. Do NOT let it hang unsupported.
  8. Remove the outer axle hex collar bolt and press the halfshaft out of the hub. A suitable press tool may be necessary, otherwise drive the axle out using a suitable drift.
  9. Remove the ABS wheel speed sensor cable from the brake caliper bracket.
  10. Slide the ABS speed sensor partly out of its mount.
  11. Remove upper control arm pinch bolt and nut, then remove both arms up and out of the steering knuckle.

WARNING The slots in the steering knuckle must not be widened. Do NOT loosen any other steering knuckle fasteners, otherwise the axle geometry must be checked.
  1. Tilt the steering knuckle out and to the rear of the vehicle, then remove the halfshaft. If necessary, use a press tool to remove the axle from the hub.

  4. Install the wheel and hold it to keep the axle from turning. If necessary have an assistant hold the tire, or with the wheel removed, install two of the lug bolts and have an assistant hold a suitable and sturdy 3 foot (1 meter) prytool between the lug bolts to prevent the axle from spinning.
  5. Attach the inner halfshaft-to-transaxle flange and tighten to:

M8 fasteners: 30 ft. lbs. (40 Nm) M10 fasteners: 59 ft. lbs. (80 Nm)
  1. install the ABS wheel speed sensor, and the sensor cable into the caliper bracket.
  2. If not previously installed, install the wheel without the wheel trim and do not fully tighten the lug bolts.
  3. With the wheels installed and the vehicle on the ground, tighten the lug bolts in a crisscross pattern and then the axle bolt as follows:

SOURCE: Audi Convertible Roof broken

i can,t see why all these should need to be replaced, you need to get a more detailed report of what exactly they want to replace and for what reason in my experience dealerships dealing with roof faults will replace parts one by one untill the problem is fixed and surely the dealer should cover the cost of the repair if the roof faulted after only 3 weeks

SOURCE: I have a 2002 Audi A4 1.8T with trouble code P0411

I have a 2000 Passat (1.8T), and I recently had this code (P0411). First thing I did was to clean the mass airflow sensor (MAF) and reset the code by disconnecting the battery. Unfortunately, the code came back. It also came back with P1426. It ended up being the purge valve ($60 at ECSTuning, $140 at the dealer...I went with ECSTuning). Before you drop money on the part, inspect all of the hoses to ensure they are not cracked or torn.

How to replace brake light bulb audi a4 1.8t 2002

Start by opening the trunk lid. On the sides of the trunk, just beside where the trunk lid sits when closed there is a circle cap on either side. Remove the cap it is the same material as the trunk side trim (fuzzy carpet) then there will be a screw set into the hole that you just uncovered. You can use either a philips screw driver or an 8mm socket and remove the screw/bolt. you may need to reach in with a set of needle nose pliers to remove the screw after it is loosened all the way. Once the screw is removed grab the tail lamp assembly from the inside and twist the tail lamp out of the holding pins located on the side edge of the tail lamp. The whole light will come off of the body in your hands. Once the tail lamp assembly is out there is an access panel on the back side where all the bulbs are installed. Depress the two holding tabs on the sides and carefully remove the bulb holder. Then replace any blown bulbs and reinstall.

How do i remove the rear bulbs in an audi tt 4x4

Access to the tail light cluster should be through panels in the rear corners of the vehicle. Remove the panel and you can remove the tail light cluster to replace the bulbs. This is the position on most sedans, unless, like on pick-ups, the tail light lenses have screws which allow the lenses to be removed to change the bulbs.

How to replace the third brake light (hatch) on a 2005 hyundai accent. I took off the 4 screw on the the plastic cover and it still won't come off. Tried taking off cove of back hatch but don't want to...

Above the third brake light is a small panel, remove this panel using small screwdriver.
1. You'll see four (4) bolts, remove the three bolts that are painted black, do not remove the center bolt holding the plastic molding, this is for the door molding, and has nothing to do with the light.
2. Once those three bolts are out, you'll see two more small screws, remove them and you'll have access to the third brake light bulb.

Be careful when pulling out the bulb, my bulb broke, and I'm still trying to get pieces out! - Good luck.

AUDI A4

It's likely similar to my 99. Pull back the carpeting in the trunk behind the light, and you'll see a plastic tray mounted vertically with a harness plugged into it. That's the "bulb tree" as it's called. Pop that out, remove the blown bulb, install a new one, and then snap the tree back in place, and you should be good to go.
