Wiper motor on 1995 Chevrolet C1500 buzzes and wipers don't move.
Tryed two new wiper motors.
When I turn on the switch the wipers don't move and all three motors buzz even with the wiper switch turned off.
There is power to the Yellow plug wire with ignition on RUN or ACCES.
There is power to the Purple plug wire with wiper switch on HIGH.
NO power to the Red or Brown wires at anytime the wiper switch is adjusted.
What might the problem be?
Is it the wiper switch, how do I test it?
Is there a relay some where I don't know about?
What roll do the Red and Brown wires play in the wiper motor/module?
(The center black plug wire is the ground).
Thanks for replying. Sorry not to get back sooner. The linkage is ok. I even had the wiper motor off the firewall, but plugged in, it sometime worked and then it would buzz. I took it off the pigtail and tried each connection one by one until I hade it running on the fender. Reinstalled it and it would sometimes work, of course now it is back to the buzz thing. Is there a way to test the wiper switch on the column? I hate to invest a couple of hundred in a new turn signal etc. switch. I may opt to try a motor from a different auto pars dealer in case they had TWO bad ones on the shelf. Thank you again. Thanks for replying.

Back again. I trouble shot the wiper problem on my 1995 Chevrolet C1500. I found that when testing the hot side of the fuse jacks that are only hot when the ignition switch is in RUN or Access they have very little voltage. Since the Radio is one of these, and is not working because of the problem, I did an ugly thing and jumped a home-made fusible link from the hot side of the BATT RADIO fuse terminal, which is always hot,to the TO side of the Wiper fuse terminal jack. The wipers immediately started working. Long story short.. I know the what the problem is but don't know where the low voltage is coming from. Does anyone know where I should look to see what is causing the low voltage. Thanks so much!Back again. I trouble shot the wiper problem on my 1995 Chevrolet C1500. If upon turning the switch, you hear either a buzzing or a noise coming from the wiper area but no movement of the windshield wipers, then it becomes likely that there is a mechanical problem. In front wiper systems, there are two moving parts, the wiper motor and the wiper transmission. In rear wiper systems with a single wiper, there’s a single moving part, the wiper motor.
If you hear a buzz, it could be a motor straining to move a jammed wiper transmission or a locked motor gear. If you hear a grind coming from the wiper area, it could be a stripped gear in either the motor, the transmission or where the wiper arm splines to the wiper motor in the rear. Don’t let the term transmission fill you with dread; it’s simply a term for a multi-lever set of arms and hinges that turn the circular motion of the wiper motor into the side to side motion of the wiper arms. It is also possible that the spline on the post of the front wiper arms is stripped.
Generally speaking, you can reach the motor and transmission by removing the wiper arms, all the screws that hold the cowl beneath the wiper arms and the weather stripping. Once exposed, you should be able to remove the motor from the transmission and check to see if the transmission is binding or if the motor is the culprit. Simply, replace the culprit, and reassemble.
If the problem is with the rear wiper system, getting to the wiper motor can be more difficult with far more trim to remove than with a front system. You may elect to consult your mechanic for help.
The buzzing is from the washer pump, probably just a broken hose. The wiper motor needs replaced. it is under the grill that the wiper blades connect at. several screws to remove along the top and bottom. The linkage either pops off or there is a clip to remove. Three bolts for the motor.
Are you sure that it is the board?? I have a 1995 c1500 and it was doing same thing. Its mounted on rubber gromets and developed a bad ground. Take a wire with two big clips on both ends of it and clip one to the wiper motor. And other on the motor, on a bolt or something.
Most likely the wiper motor, when it stops working, bump the wiper motor to see if it will start working,if it does, the wiper motor is bad,it does not always work, bumping the wiper motor, but if it does not, then check to see if it is getting voltage to the wiper motor, and if it is,the wiper motor needs replacing.
Beyond the obvious answer of replacing the motor itself, check the fuse, and bad wiper switch, it could be just the auto-park switch on the wiper motor that is worn out.
First thing you could try is replacing the circuit board on your wiper motor. It's behind the black retangular box on your wiper motor. Not hard to change. A few screws and a plug in. Or- change the whole wiper motor. ( about $80 more than the board) Bolts can all be accessed by removing the cover at the bottom of your windshield. Pretty straight forward.
