Sounds like the friction surface of the clutch disc is slipping. You would have to install a new clutch (clutch disc, pressure plate, and clutch release bearing), and have the flywheel surface cut and polished back to perfect smooth by a shop. Manual transmission gears don't slip like automatics. And lack of fluid in the transaxle or the hydraulic clutch system won't cause this either.
Hello: The number one injector could be stuck open. to check you will have to remove fuel rail with injectors attached, energize fuel pump with key off and see if #1 injector drips/sprays fuel. YOU COULD ALSO SWAP #1 AND #2 injector and see if the misfire goes to #2 cylinder.
A fuel pressure regulator is located on the injector rail. It generally looks like a round chrome or black diaphragm with a vacuum line attached. This is what controls the amount of fuel the injector get. They are fairly simple to replace, just shut off the car, make sure that you have released all the pressure in the fuel rail and then remove the regulator by removing the 2 (Generally 2) mounting screws and the vacuum line. Re install in reverse order and that's it.

If it is an SL1 there is one injector inside the thing that looks like a carburetor hanging on the back of the engine. If it is an SL2 there are four of them attached to the fuel rail. Neither of these are to be replaced by someone unfamiliar with fuel supply systems. Save yourself some grief ad let someone else do it.
