I have a 2000 mazda millenia s with a 2.3L supercharged it is no power to take off from a stop or when you finally get to at cruising speed and try to accelerate the supercharger has a rattle when it is at...

Mazda did once use a supercharger of a very unusual design that used pressure waves from the exhaust to create depressions in the chambers of a rotating honeycomb. The one I saw was belt drive and because the belt was slipping slightly the supercharger was out of synch with the crank and the loss of power was dramatic. Replacing the belt and correctly tensioning it restored full power.

Supercharger in a 2.5 engine

Superchargers are very cool stuff, but they are very expensive to buy, difficult to maintain and if the engine is not in top notch condition and specially prepared for the extra cylinder pressures likely you will blow it up shortly after installing it. I used to build blown fuel engines and know what goes into them, and what happens to them (even the most expensive and best prepared have short lives.) Granted a street unit wont make the boost I'm familiar with but the result is the same. So, even if you can find a kit somewhere, be prepared to own a pile of scrap metal shortly thereafter...

Mazda millenia problems

here are a few problems to look out for:

Check-engine light: Check engine light comes on due to carbon buildup on the exhaust valves of 2.5L engine. (1995-02)

Engine noise: Some engines make a metallic tapping noise requiring a new friction-gear spring on the camshaft. (1995)

Headlights: The headlight drain hoses can get kinked by the aiming screws causing fogging. (1995-96)

Keys: It may be hard to turn the ignition key because the steering shaft is not positioned correctly. (1995)

Steering problems: The steering wheel may be off center requiring adjustment of the tie rods. (1995). You can also have a look at the following website where some owner have given their opinions on owning one. http://www.carsurvey.org/reviews/mazda/millenia/r68654/comments/
