I am having the same problem, and have had the Slave Cylinder Fixed twice and the master once. For some reason its not as bad, but is still not fixed. Any suggestions as to what else it could be????
There are three parts to the clutch release...the master cylinder Just like the brake master cylinder but smaller, the line between that part and the clutch slave (on the bellhousing.) Just like your brakes, that system needs to be free of leaks. Locate the master (the clutch rod on the clutch pedal goes into the back of it) make sure there is no fluid leaking from behind it. Check the line and check the slave for signs of seepage. Replace whatever is leaking and bleed (like brakes) at the bleed screw on the slave.
It may be the master cylinder or slave cylinder leaking. The master is where you add the fluid and the slave is attached to the trans. Try to follow the line that goes from the master to the slave and look for wetness. Sometimes the master will leak into the car and onto the clutch pedal. The slave will most likely leak onto the trans or the ground. They both have seals that go bad and are repairable.
The lines or the clutch it self is leaking the seals get old over time from the fluid eating away at the seals and one day they begin to leak just replace it before it goes out and you have no pressure to shift gears and was hard before adding the fluid or after or at anytime if the clutch cant depress enough when you push the pedal then it will be hard to push into gear
More than likely the slave cylnder in the tranny or on the side of the tranny have you been seeing fluid on the ground.
The clutch reservoir is ior has nothing to do with your clutch. If you have a clutcth you can't add lubricant from under the hood. The brake master cylider has 2 metal lines coming out of it. The clutch cylinder has only one line. If you are losing fluid, the slave cylinder ;ocated under th car may be leaking. That is the second part of the clutch control. The brake master cylinder has twoo compartments or is partitioned, where the clutch master cylinder is a single bowl. Good Luck- Ned
