Question about 2006 Nissan Altima
I have a 2006 Altima and at times it will not shift from drive into reverse or park, I can always go from park to drive but at times when I am in drive it will only go as far as neutral and it will not go into reverse or park. The shifter cable is not kinked. If the car idles for about 3 - 5 minutes and I try to move the shifter, it will eventually will go into reverse and then park.
The problem that I could see is the transmission/shift solenoid. The solenoid thing is located inside the transmission. The repair
should run $200-$250 or there abouts. If you don't fix it quickly
though, you will wreck the transmission and you don't want to know how
much that costs!
You may also contact the manufacturer for second opinion.
Hope this helps and have a great evening!
