There is something that looks like a little powered shock absorber, called an actuator that opens or closes the door that adds heat to your system. That is probably stuck open. With any luck you can free it up by running the system on high and moving the selector from hot to cold over and over and perhaps it will close that door. Otherwise it’s going to need to be replaced.

If you have the heater directed to the windshield, the AC will turn on. Move the control away from defrost.

SOURCE: The proper name of the AC Vents

Try Duct Vents, Ductwork Vents, or Dash Vents. Then Dash Outlet Vent, A/C Outlet Vent, Dash Panel Vent.

You may be able to find something in a Salvage Yard. The other problem you may be having is the Dash Panels are 1 component so there may be no separate sales for just parts on the panel. Say Lear makes the Dash panels for Ford; they come to the Assembly plant already assembled.

You may need to take off the Dash panel anyway to be able to pry out the old vents if you can get replacements. You would help yourself alot by going to a Salvage yard and seeing how stuff comes apart so you don't break your parts.

Now that you know the name of the parts, try a Dealer and ask if they can get new vents or not.

PROBLEM COULD BE BLEND DOOR ACTUATOR OR FAULTY AC CONTROL MODULE.

a picture of the HVAC Blend Door Motors & locations,
as well as part numbers

You can get failed motor from Amazon

With knowing where the motors are located, try switching
the air flow modes manually, to see what positions do not work

Then you know what motors to replace

I cant get my 2000 ford focus heater to switch blowing frow the floor to blow to the defroster or air conditioner vents. It just stays blowing to the floor

go by liquid coolant and check ur heat and ac fan it might be stuck or broken

Ac and heat blowing out of defrost vents

had this problem on a ford crown vic ... tried the switches that control the vents not it ... turned out that one of the vent doors inside of heating and ac/ ducts was broke .... had to take the whole dash apart to fix ... u need to have it checked by a respectible mechanic ... depends on ur yr and make of car on how to diagnose problem ...
