How do you change the light bulb on a 2001 cadillac deville

Kind of a silly question, removing a
bumper for a parking lamp

How about getting under it before you came here
& reach up & turn the lamp socket & pull it out &
check the bulb/lamp

The bulbs are removed from the back of the lens housing. Some can be reached from under the hood, others need to have the lens assembly removed from the front.

Tail and turn are seperate bulbs, usually. Have someone watch while you apply the brake with bulbs exposed. If brake and tail are same bulb make sure its tight and check coil in bulb, probably getting old.

You need a T-15 star bit driver that is referred to as TORX. On the top and bottom of tail light are the screws. Carefully remove the chrome trim then the light pulls out after applying slight upward pressure. Once you twist out the socket the bulb simply unplugs. It should be either a 3057 or 3157 bulb.

Generally the low beams or high beams for that matter are a bulb that connects to a socket that is held in place by a ring or collar that is rotated to release from behind the glass and plastic headlamp assembly. Open the hood to access it, generally.
May have to remove a shroud or plastic paneling to get to it.

If you get your bulbs from the parts store, looking at the base can give you a clue as to how to replace it on the car. Make sure the O-ring seats properly and do not handle the bulb without gloves or shortly after turning off the lights (removing old bulb).

Anytime I get a too lean DTC I first change the fuel filter if it hasn't been changed in awhile. You'd be surprised how many times this has helped.

is it on a DTS or is it the marker side light.
