If it is a headlight or tail light, look in the hood or trunk for the wires that connect to the back of the light housing, turn the collar where those wires go into the assembly and it should unlock. removed the bad bulb and pull it out of the socket and insert the new bulb. Be careful not to touch the element if possible with your hand. The oils in your hand will cause the bulb to overheat and burn out very quickly. reverse the process you used to remove the bulb to put the new bulb in place and make sure you lock the bulb in place by tightening the collar.
