CD Player will not play MP3s

When I burn mp3s onto a cd and place it in the drive, It says reading disk for about 2 minutes and then spits it out. This car is supposed to play mp3s. Anyone else having this problem? Thanks

Your cd player is not compatible with reading MP3 format...not all are.
You will have to get one that states its a Multi reader or more specifically MP3 compatible.

just try an mp3 disk in it if its not ment to play it it will just not play or say n/a file canot hurt to try it first

The CD changer only plays standard audio cds. What can be done so that mp3 cds can be played?

Does your bezel have an 'mp3' logo on the front?
try converting the files to 'aiff' format too.

When i put cd in the screen reads disc unreadable, we tried to put disc cleaner still the same thing, what would you recommend?

i would recommend a new head unit as by the sounds of it your laser is stuffed. another thing is, is it mp3s your trying to put in? and is it a mp3 playing cd player.

I recently purched a 1998 lexus ES300. The Cd player will only play purchased cd's and not those that I burn. Can this be overcome. Also there is a grinding or rubbing noise when I turn, which is worse...

Older CD players con't play MP3s (burned CDs). Burned CDs are a different format.

Same here with 2008 CRV

MP3s are a different format from a regular CD. You can use an MP3 player through the AUX jack, but not a CD with MP3s on it.

Try getting a cd cleaning tool come with a disk with tiny brushes on it and cleaning solution to clean the eye or if you are using burned cds try and see what format you are buring such as mp3s mp4s some cd player only will play a certain formats such as mp3s.
