How do i change a mahindra scorpio fanbelt

first pull the auto tensioner towards upwards by hand then lock it by put a long 10mm bolt.before that you need a big double end spanner to unlock the fan and remove the fan guard in plastic in front of it...i once again review 1)remove the plastic fitted to radiator 2)remove the fan 3)lock the auto tensioner 4)remove the belt very easily and change it 5)reverse the process to fit all these... hint:you cant loose the fan nut so grip the double end in nut and hit it with hammer towards your right side...

I have a 2004 Toyota Altis. There is a loud screaching sound coming from the fanbelt. I changed the fanbelt and the sound stopped for a month and started up again. Belt dressing spray does NOT stop the...

This can only be a loose belt. You need to adjust the tension (Usually done by loosening the altenator and pulling ot outwards before tightening it up again.

You may think it's tight enough, but tha fact is it probably isnt. Carefully undo the tensioning nut, slip a crow bar between the engine and altenator and lever the altenator outwards to a position further than ist is now.

Needless to say, careful where you put the crow bar on the engine and altenator and careful just how tight you make it. This is one of those "how tight do I make it....." "about until you give a little grunt and that's probably about right" moments.

Just tighten it a little more. Lock off the adjustment bolt, start the car and see if the squeal has gone. If yes, good job, if no, then go a little tighter.

Fitting a new fanbelt- how do you de-tension the tensoner?

You'll need a socket and rachet or wrench to put on the bolt on the pulley tensioner, usually a 14mm or 15mm bolt, then lift up or push down to relieve the tension from the tensioner on the belt.

1997 Buick Regal fanbelt problem

buy a new tensioner assembley and idler pully and might as well get a new belt while your at it. you will need a 3/8 ratchet a 15 mm socket and a 13 mm socket there is one bolt holding on tensioner remove it discard old tensioner put new tensioner in place and tight bolt. second remove bolt from idler pulley discard old pulley put inton place and tighen bolt. next install belt fallow belt routing digram put head of 3/8 rattachet into hole on tensioner or on bolt head of tensioner pulley depending on style of tensioner and pull or push to create slack in belt push belt into groves on all pulleys and release tensioner

Need to know the right tension setting of the accel. cable of a 98 accord lx vtech cant seem to set it right im burning to much fuel and car is running crappy

Honda does not apply a specification for this.

Tight enough so there is no slack, but not so tight as the throttle is held open.

Sounds like you may have broken so-called window glide rollers (aka window regulator bushings) which are the green plastic and metal clips that secure the window glass to the scissors lifts. Each window has two.
