Make sure that all the hoses are connected properly. If the intake has any leaks between the throttle body and the air filter housing the computer will not see air entering the engine and you will have this problem.
A Large leak is almost never a gas cap, thats usually the small leak. Dodge uses cheap hoses that crack badly. Check the canister in the Engine compartment, passenger side. Then check passenger side behind the cab by the frame. 2 canisters and hoses leaving that ,often cracked. Last is a piece that connects from the hard steel lines near the oil pan....one of these three usually
This indicates a fuel vapor leak in the EVAP control system. It means a very small leak has been detected. In fact, the leak can be from a hole as small as 0.04" in diameter. The (EVAP) emission control system prevents the escape of fuel vapors from a vehicle's fuel system. Fuel vapors are routed by hoses to a charcoal canister for storage. Later, when the engine is running a purge control valve opens allowing intake vacuum to siphon the fuel vapors into the engine.
A code P0442 most likely means one or more of the following has happened:
•A loose or improperly affixed gas cap (most likely)
•A non-conforming gas cap (i.e. not factory/original brand)
•A small leak/hole in a fuel vapor hose/tube
•Other small leak in EVAP system
•Faulty vent O-ring seal
p0440 - Evap. system performance (this could be something as simple as not turning the gas cap several times after you fill up.
p0456 - Evap leak monitor Small leak detected. - Could be related to the previous code.
p2106 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Forced limited power : This one you might have noticed the vehicle running rough, overdrive not working properly and cruise control will not set.
p2175 - Throttle Actuator Control System - Low airflow detected.
What you might want to try first is have the codes cleared which most auto parts stores offer this for nothing (unless you have a programmer then you can do it yourself). Pour in some fuel injector cleaner into your gas, put a new air filter on. And when you fill up your gas tank, crank the cap several times when you put it back on. See if the codes come back on after that.
P0442 means you have a small leak in your EVAP System. your can try replacing the Gas cap since it's the easiest thing to do and reset the check engine light with a scanner. If the check engine light came back on then your going to have to go though all the Vacuum line in the EVAP system and connections. The other thing too is the service engine light should turn off when the problem is addressed and it may take up to three start ups to clear.
Good luck and keep me posted, be glad to help,
Recap, change the gas cap and inspect all the hose and connection's to the EVAP system.
