Chrysler 5.2L engine. There is a non-threaded hole on the left side of the oil pan just after the last freeze plug. It appears that it opens into the crankcase area of the engine. Do you know what this is for?

If the engine is running well and you don't have anything leaking from that hole, it may be an "abandoned" mount for an item you don't have on your vehicle. If everything else is working, just leave it alone.
