Please, your Honda Civic 1991 is a manual shift?
If positive, the car crank and do not start?
If it is positive also, please check your clutch pedal area and see if there is broken parts of a blue plastic peace.
If there isn't go down to the steering wheel area and look the clutch pedal (press it). It needs to take a blue plastic peace like an arrow. This peace it press a switch which cut the start connection. As you know the Honda Civic shift model only can start if you pressing the clutch pedal. That the reason why if have all lights on and the it cranks but do not start. We have to buy the switch and the only place I found it is the Honda Dealer.
Hope this can help you.

I have same car 1989 honda crx, what worked for car was I took the Idle Air Control Valve ( IACV ) off and cleaned it with carb cleaner. What you will need is a 12mm socket and only has two screws, and pliers to take off two small hoses attached to it.. And most important carb cleaner to clean the inside of IAVC. Plus you can also search for this on the Internet ...1989 honda crx Idle Surges! Hope this helps...

My 1991 Honda Accord is dropping oil onto the hot cover in the front. Also, the service engine light soon comes on after driving about 10 to 15 minutes. What possibly can be wrong? I think the cover...

You have a bad valve cover gasket. If I remember correctly the spark plug wires go thru the valve cover? If that is true a loose valve cover will leak motor oil on the plug wires possibly causing the check engine/maint light. I would start with the valve cover and a tune up. That may solve all your issues.

Leakes oil

First take the car to a car wash and clean the bay to the best of your ability with hot high pressure soap and water. be sure to avoid direct high pressure water to electronics and other electrical components. Wait a few minutes before starting up the car. Drive it around another day and see where the oil is coming from. Chances are its probably the valve cover gasket set and your distributor O ring. It could also be your oil pan gasket. Both arent too much work to replace if you have the tools.

Valve cover gaskets, now it wont run

You need to get the timing checked, did you mark the position of the distributor before you took it off. If not you might be slightly off with the new distrib.

Still wondering

is there water in oil or oil in coolant?those cars have bad rep for heads and head gaskets blowing....
sounds like head gasket blew, water sucked into cyl.
check spark plug if might have wet contact from water in cyl.

Timing or ecu throwing a code

easiest way to check for a broken timing belt is to look into the oil fill hole on valve cover and have someone crank engine. see if you can see the cam move. if not moving, timing belt is broken. if it is moving it is not broken but still may be off a tooth or more. at that point you will need to remove timing covers and check timing marks. these cars are very simple and you can learn alot by spending 20 bucks on a basic haynes type repair manual.
