Ignition keeps going into security car starts then stalls and security idiot light flashes

ignition switch problems on these cars are notorious, you can bypass the anti-theft module by placing a resistor inline so that the module 'thinks' the correct key is not an attempt to steal the car. the anti theft is located behind the glovebox and the resistor costs 15 cents at radio shack, not as hard to do as it sounds and it fixes it for good.

Car won't start

The first question is: why is hubby punching in codes when he doesn't know the correct code? Is he a lottery winner? It's a 4 digit code, he's got a one in 10,000 chance of getting the correct code. The code can only be entered in one time, and that's the 1st time. The penalty is: you must take the radio out, record the serial number and call the dealer for the unlock code. Only they have it. While you have the radio out, slap the hubby up side the head with it. This usually activates the learning curve regarding attempting to do things you have no knowledge to do.

Then wait 1.5 hrs with key on acc to then push in the correct code.

This should unlock the radio and alarm. They're connected. Why, so someone doesn't run off with your radio and car.

If hubby has done other stuff to further disable car and isn't telling you, remove radio and slap him up side the head with it one more time. The learning curve should then be permanently activated. Then go to dealer with husbands checkbook. At $125/hr or more, it isn't cheap. And they work slow.

Gearbox wont change 1st to 2nd without backing off

This car may have shifting solenoids inside the transmission Call up a noted trans shop to find out exactly before wasting money. The solenoids will not cost that much and labor is not all that bad for they are located righ under the trans pan inside

The heater was blowing in my 54 reg scenic 1.5 dci now it has stopped how do i fix it and how do i get to it and fix it do u know how much it will cost

1st of all make sure the fuse didn't blow ..this will save you time and money if that is the issue and also wiggle the connections at the motor to ensure they are not just rusty / corroded loose or disconnected

for an exact figure on cost for the part i would cal a parts store ..as for installation if this is the issue the fan itself is not too difficult to install other than a few screws that reside under the fan-motor itself that require some time and bending of the hands to get them out and reinstalled .

but i would 1st make sure the fuse is not the issue and check all the above i mentioned you

Engine light on

It means your O2 sensor bank 1, wich is the 1st sensor on your converter, or exhuast, this will cause your problems your describing. The part probally isnt cheap but the labor and all at 500 is robery, a couple hundred at the most. I would ask someone you know that work on cars and see what they would charge. I do it all the time for people. Saves money on the labor side. I found the sensor online for 130, there ripping you off when they say 500

Transmission problem ? Dash gauges

Ignition switch and wire harness for ignition switch. My husband did both. I was losing dash gauges intermittently and overdrive. Now that is fixed and six months later looks like I need the multi function switch(turn signal, wipers, cruise lever). My husband has to take that all apart again for this problem. My turn signal blinker noise won't shut off. Driving me crazy.
