The next time the seat is inoperable pull the switch out and test it for a voltage signal that should be present when the button in question is operated. The switch is the most common issue that I have seen, but hold on replacing it until the switch is tested.
look for overheating wires melting their insulation just under the glove compartment in the passenger seat. This is the blower for the heater and for the air conditioning
I have a 2006 land rover lr3 hse my driver seat and mirrors and cooler in the center stopped working all fusses look ok what could be the problem please help thank you
Wiggle the switch that controls the problem movement, if the seats moves or jitters a little the switch is defective and will solve the problem. If nothing happens when you do this simple test then go under the seat and probe the large wiring connector the power seat transmission, when you move the switch to rear seat travel position and see if any of the wires light up, if it does show voltage when the switch is toggled then the seat transmission may be at fault. I think you have a switch problem based on my expereinces but do the testing because the part is not cheap.
Had the same problems with the passenger window motor and the airbag light. For tgeh window, the magnetic bushings were worn down on mine and had to replace the entire unit. About a 2 on a 1-5 difficulty scale. The part itself can be found on eBay for about $45 inc. S
The same thing happened to my 99 C70. I had to replace coils, in the engine...has somewhat to do with the spark plug stuff. Cost me $600.
Also the electric seats go out, they are lame. I spent $150 fixing my driver side one time, then it went out again...and is stuck...but okay enough for me to drive, and I refuse to fix it again.
2003 surbarban driver seat and passenger windows have common fuse/breaker under hood in fuse panel. 50 Amp fuse upper left of box, marked mped this is a big fuse not the little ones.
Verify the wiring harness which passes under plastic step & carpet at front passenger side. This wiring harness goes from the firewall to the pillar on the right side and some have crimped connectors in them to act as junction between two or more wires (ususlly the 12volt feed), which deteriorate with time, especially with Salt & Water. Then the electric sliding door stops working and even driver the electric seat can loose power.
at temperatures such as yu mentioned the car will almost certainly suffer some sort of electrical problems as microchips which controll all your electricals are prone to breaking and loosing functionality. it could be either. if you can take motor off or access the main wires at the back of it and try direct connection to the battery and see if it responds. if not then it will definitley be a fuse.
