Key fob lights up but doesn't work even with a new battery

Hi

My key fob for renault clio is not working. I thought it was the battery so i opened it up and replaced it with a new battery and it still isnt working. The central locking buttomn inside the car works and i can still drive with the key. It lights up red when i press the fob but doesnt lock or unlock the car.
Any idea whats wrong?
Thank you

I'm more familiar with Range Rovers and Saab's when it comes to key fobs but if you changed the battery you have to re-program the key fob. If you do not have an owner's manual that can take you through the steps you might want to try: push and hold the lock button on the key fob, put it in the driver's side door and turn to lock. With the button still depressed turn back to open, remove the key and release the button. If this doesn't work check any and all fuses associated with your system and last but not least you could take it to a dealer. Good luck!

Renault clio problem

I have to say that the simplest would be to call AA, they're usually quite adept at opening bonnets if the battery is dead (preventing access to the bonnet release).

The key fob on my renault clio has stopped working have replaced the battery but still nothing...any ideas rather than just getting a new one for £150.00

Open the key carefully and check the electronics. Unless the tactile switch is damaged and needs replacement, check the quality of the solder on all components. This is prone to failure over time.

Renault clio central locking fault

I believe you have to press the button very quickly 2 times. One time is just for the drivers door then two times very quick to unlock all..

How do you reset the key fob on a renault clio 1.2 billabong after changing the batteries in key fob?

The keyfob should not need reseting! normally you put the new batteries in and it should just work.

If the fob is not working then it may be broken.
