On some models installing a non A/C optioned cars belt will do the trick due to it's shorter length.
If you can get a look at a non A/C car the same as yours....you can check if a shorter belt will do....or if it uses an extra idler pully on the belt system to make up for "no A/C compressor".

SOURCE: Alternator Belt routing

If you bought a Goodyear belt, the routing is on the box. Or you can get on Auto Zone's site and they have routing for all the belts. And then again, if your van hasn't been wrecked, there should be belt diagrams on your cawl. Hope this helps. phil

SOURCE: need to bypass ac compressor

Hi yotaguy,
You will need to buy a By-Pass pulley, due to the placement of the other pulleys you will not be able to eliminate the ac and still run the correct routing of the belt.
I will research the price of the pulley and post it here.
Please rate this solution, the only compensation I receive for my time is the knowing I have helped and the rating I receive here on Fixya.

SOURCE: My AC compressor went out on my 2004 Chevy Blazer.

its the same. but a different pulley takes place of the a/c compressor. I know DORMAN makes a few "bypass pulleys" to do this, but dont know if they make one for your truck. at the worst... you will need to get a pulley and bracket from the dealer for a truck without a/c . as long as your a/c pulley bearing is ok, you can let the belt run there.

2006 Pontiac Torrent. What size belt do I need if I bypass a/c compressor and idler pulley on it?

That's not the way that you do it. You remove the AC compressor and install a Bypass Pulley in its place. The belt and routing remain the same.

Serpentine belt route on a 3400 without AC

Without FULL 'year make model', it is all guesswork, or do you really have an AC Cobra, (the category you posted to)?

The Google Search Query for this is

year make model no AC

Also it is better to purchase an AC Bypass Pulley. It keeps the same route and belt length.

How to bypass the ac pulley on a 2003 hyundai sonata

You can bypass the ac compressor by using a 82" belt. Feed the belt from the back of the engine at the water pump. Disconnect the power steering line at pump. It's a lot easier if you use some type of hook to hold/maneuver the belt. (I used a bent rebar) Follow this routing diagram I created. Bam! No more ac problems!

New routing diagram for the drive belt on my 2004 Cherokee. new belt is 13 inchs shorter (this is to eliminate the squeek problem), my local garage is reluctant to advise me!

Click on the following Link. It has the two (2) Serpentine Belt Diagrams.

I believe the Mechanic is bypassing your AC Compressor.
When you look at both of the Belt Routes you can bypass the AC with the shorter belt.
In the first Diagram: the Belt would go from the Power Steering Pump, bypassing the AC and going directly to (over the top) of the Water Pump.
In the second Diagram: the Belt would go from the Tensioner, bypassing the AC and going directly to (under the bottom) of the Water Pump.
