1988 ford thunderbird 3.8L v6 has vapor lock when the outside temperature exceeds 96 degrees. What can be done to fix this problem?
Vapor lock cannot occur in a tank mounted fuel pump. The pump may be worn enough to lose it's pumping ability at high temperatures. Have you changed the fuel filter? Is the check engine light on? If so, rent a scanner, read the code(s) and follow them to repairs. What occurs when the temps reach 96 degrees?
Check the vapor return line at the tank there is a valve that gets clogged with dirt causes tank to run excessive vacuum ..
