Drivers side sun visor hanging loose in my way all the time

The driver's side sun visor has been loose for awhile, first it wouldn't go up all the way, now it won't go up at all. It frequently swings arond so that it baps my in the head when I turn corners.

My sun visor broke a few years ago. I live in KY and they replaced both for free.

Why would this Service Campaign T64 only apply to these states? I have this same issue but with the passenger side Sun Visor.

Loose driver side sun visor

If there is head of a screw on the arm that attaches to the sunvisor you can tighten that up. If not the sunvisor has to be replaced instead

Driver side sun visor falls down

If you have anything on top of the visor, remove it. If there are any screws visible near the pivot rod, tighten them. You can remove the visor and slightly bend the pivot rod, inside the visor. You can just buy a new one and replace it yourself. It's only a few screws.

My sun visor on the driver's side just cracked and

I fabricated my own brackets for my 2004 Ford Explorer to mount (or should I say re-mount) my sun visors after they both crumbled and fell on us. I cut some thin metal (tin I think) and put 5 layers together to form the bracket. If there is any interest, I'll upload some pictures and instructions over the week-end to show how to install it. I'm thinking about offering to make these for $12+ shipping for one bracket or $20+shipping for a pair.

2007 Optima sun visor is loose.

My 2007 Optima Driver's Side visor also had the same problem. I removed it with the screws under the plate at the base of the visor. Upon further inspection, the plastic inside the "hinge" had shattered inside the plastic sleeve. I am currently attempting some at-home super-glue-and-epoxy repair. If this works, I've saved myself a couple hundred bucks in repairs.
