I have a 2003 chevy suburban. Every now and then when I tried to start it all the gauges, dashboard indicators, radio will come on but no start. Not the battery. Ignition switch in steering column?

Suspect a starter or power to it. Unlikely an ignition switch. You can try tapping on the starter motor while the key is in the crank position with a blunt object the next time it happens and see if it starts. If it does, suspect an internal starter motor problem.

My 2003 chevytrailblazer motor did roll over but now it dont

Check Battery, if you try to charge or jump starter you may hear a click. If you're sure its a good charged battery then consider starter. Try to jump starter by passing switch, cross small wire to larger wire on starter (you may get sparks) (please be careful if you try this) this should make the starter spin & kick in turning the engine. If it only spins then its probably the starter solenoid. If this checks out then check ignition switch & harness connections. That's it..

I have a 2001 Chevy Suburban 1500 5.3 engine. I replaced the starter thinking this was my problem, but after driving the truck almost 75 miles with no problems I turned it off unloaded the truck and tried...

Are both battery terminals clean? Does it start when it's jumped? Have you tried putting a redundant ground cable between the battery and the engine and trying again to see if it starts? Is the small wire that energizes the solenoid hot at the terminal where it connects to the starter( when the key is in the 'start' position)? Have you tried to jiggle the gear selector between reverse and drive to see if the neutral safety switch might be the problem? When you tested the battery was it a load tester? If it's connected to the cables and then checked again, that pulls whatever load can be applied after all terminals, universal battery clamps and other chances for the current to be held up. Also, it could just be a defective starter! Some 'factory' rebuilds are not all that thorough. Another thought is ignition switch! Try jiggling the key or tapping on the steering column near the ignition switch.

2002 Chevy Suburban...Power/Battery?

Make sure battery is fully charged, try jump starting it, if it starts, and you can get a volt meter, put the test leads on the battery terminals, red positive black negative, have the dial on the meter at 12volts DC.
With the motor running, the meter should read between 14 and 15 volts, below that, the alternator isn't charging and needs replacing.
If it still clicks with a jump, the starter solenoid is bad and needs replacing. The solenoid is on top of the starter, which has to be removed to fix it.
