Where is my fuse box on 97 catera

The main fuse box is on the left side under the steering wheel behind the knee panel. A secondary fuse location is under the hood on the driver's side. You can download a free owner's manual for your car from the link provided when you click the underlined text here.

When i put the key in my catera cadillac it will not turn no matter what i've tried!!! before i spend a fortune to get this towed is there anything i can try first at home? i don't want to break thekey off...

try jiggling the steering wheel left and right as you turn the key. If you have another key for it, a copy or original, try it. If not the ignition cylinder is shot.

2001 Cad Catera: can not remove key from ignition dispite playing

The lock and tumbler could be stuck or faulty. You can take a ballpeen hammer and lightly tap around the key to see if the internal pins loosen up and release the key. The pins do tend to stick on the GM's.

Can u take ignition switch off with out taking off steering wheel

Unfortunately No. You have to disegage locking pin from the inside to slide ignition assembly out. Disengage air bags before attempting anything or you will have a problem.

OK, NOW THAT I THINK THE SWITCH IS BAD IN MY 1998 CADILLAC CATERA, HOW EXACTLY DOES A PERSON CHANGE IT OUT. I CAN GET THE SWITCH FROM A LOCAL AUTO PARTS STORE. I HAVE LOOKED FOR A REPAIR MANUAL, BUT SO...

I assume your talking about ignition, you have to remove air bag and steering wheel to get to pin for ignition switch. If you don't feel confident removing the airbag then don't. Once air bag is removed all you need is steering wheel gear puller.
