You'll need to get under the vehicle and see where the coolant is originating.

Could be loose/damaged/cracked hose; hole in radiator; overflow reservoir overflowing, freeze plug leaking, etc...

The fix could be simple, such as a new hose or; not-so-simple, such as remove radiator and repair/raplace.

Leak at fuel rail on volvo 960

take a lead from your battery .then reach under the inlet manifold. remove the 10mm bolt and copper washers one each side of that bolt. that is the feed line from your fuel rail to the cold start injector .now remove each of the ten mil bolts holding on your fuel rail . now remove the clips holding the injectors to your fuel rail. place some clothes under the fuel rail and lift off . care needed due to fuel wear eye protection due to fuel pressure..

We have a 95 Volvo 960 wagon and when the heater is turned on it drains the engine coolant and then the coolant light comes on??

You have a coolant leak past the heater valve in the hose or in the heater core. It must be dripping to the road and not in the floor or you would notice the wet floor.

My Volvo 960 stalls while driving

You should start by checking the diagnostic trouble codes. Here are some directions!

These are fairly reliable, with few stalling issues, but they used to have problems with the coolant temperature sensors, and the intake manifold gasket leaks, both of which could cause your problem.

After you read the codes, or have it done for you, post the codes and I can direct you further.

1995 Volvo 960 idles rough, Emission Control light on dash is on

Possible intake gasket leak causing a misfire, or plugs or coil causing a misfire. each cylinder has its own coil. You can hear the vaccuum leak with your ears under hood if gasket is bad. Check eng codes at advance auto prob for free. If it has misfire codes only, prob coil or plugs. If misfire with fuel trim, prob gasket.

Faced similar problem. Open up the dash, change all the 4 vacuum bellows and the 2 vaccum hoses connected from the firewall to the bellow on the driver's side. Also replace the 2 valve in the hood which are connected into the firewall. Problem of losing air during acceleration solved.

1995 volvo 960 AC problem

Car has vaccuum leak(s). If you remove the panel under drivers foot area, look to the center area. You will see some vacuum chambers with different color vacuum lines running to them. the yellow one is faulty 80% of the time. Carefully remove it and plug the line itself. you dont need to plug the chamber. this should fix problem, and you wont notice any function lost on climate system.
