I asume no engines codes set but sensors can be failing and not bad enough to set a code. Can't really tell you the problem but in the last 60 k miles you should have replaced the trans filter and fluid, spark plug wires, checked spark plug gap and condition, and fuel pressure. That is cheap preventative medicine you can do. What about the timing belt? Changed when due? LOL

May be time to do a good maintenance service on it, Spark plugs, wires, fuel and air filters. More load being placed on the engine on an up hill pull, so this should fix it for you.

Why is my jeep hesitating, going up a hill or when flooring it to pass?

nice facts, all, but no engine size options stated.
after all it's an ENGINE question.
you dont know whats there, and doing DIY> really?

one fact missing, and is key
does WOT power CATCH up
that is you move right foot fast and it bogs, we get that but what happens after the bog> ? more bog or it catches up.
if it dont catch up;, on hills, maybe fuel pressure low.
see?
at WOT there is no 02 sensors. nor TPS (enrich)
at WOT only you , then engine sucking air like mad the MAF at max voltage and if fuel pressure is low the car has endless bog.
see?

wot, = wide open throttle, use a hill to test, flat is useless .
max fuel is at max HP (max torque + max RPM both same time)

i own an 08 wrangler, 3.8L stick.
i just sold my 02,. with 2.4L I4, it was a bogging engine day one out of factory its a gut less I4. (only tubo can fix it)
2.4 or 4.0 L.
ive own all of them 4 and 6cyl.

What octane gasoline should I use in my straight-6 cylindar 1992 Jeep Wrangler?

i would use 91 octane, but you can also use the 89 octane as long as you dont hear any pingging while driving or going up hills.

95 jeep wrangler splutters, jerks, backfires during acceleration

The ECU controls all of that. When they start to go bad they do very strange things that are hard to diagnose. They run about $300 bucks of you do it yourself. They are simple to do. Shop around because it is an electrical component and many places wont warranty them but some places do if your lucky you can find one. I also would not rule out your timing or distributor. I dont know you or what you have checked but could be the rotor or could be carbon tracking inside the distributor. Even the slightest crack in the cap can mess everthing up.

95 wrangler yj. has no power at high speeds

Have you had fuel pressure tested, and/or filter changed. Have you checked for plugged exhaust, such as catalytic converter? Quite often engine will also run a little hotter than normal when exhaust is plugged.
