What id the aveage repair cost for a lexus IS350 per year.

My 2008 GFM Lexus IS350 has been having the same problem as described in this thread for the past few months. I decided to take the car in on July 10th. When I described the problem to the service advisor, he said it might have something to do with the cam shaft and that I will need to leave the car at the dealership for a few days. I picked the car up on July 15th and have been driving the car the past serveral hours, with serveral start ups, and have yet to encounter the problem...only time will tell if the problem will reoccur.

26241 Intake camshaft gears oil leak down. Replaced bank 1 and 2 with improved camshaft gears per TSIB#L-SB-0156-08. Repair completed.

Every single 2006 gs300 will have this problem, and even after it has been "fixed" it's going to happen again due to the intake valves not being washed by incoming fuel. The design of the engine is a poor design and shouldn't have never been put out to production and sold to anybody. Lexus extended the warranty for this problem for 9 years and will not do a single thing for you if you're even one day out of the 9 years. Every single 06 gs300 should have been replaced with a completely different car under the lemon law the moment they realized the problem, but to save the money lexus just swept it under the rug leaving hundreds of thousands of their customers with a lemon.

On my subaru, and my hyundai, and on all my saturns there was a maintenance schedule in the owners manual. Did you make an effort to look there?

There have been very limited issues with this engine, often times they are sporadic and hard to pinpoint, but Lexus takes the correct approach, rather than leave you hanging. Once an intermittent problem comes to light they will work very hard to make you happy, as long as they can pinpoint it. Tolerance for assembly in a Lexus is 3 times as stringent as a Toyota, you are driving the number 1 brand in reliability 14 years running
The 3.5 liter engine is shared by the GS, best selling RX and the IS350 and several Toyota vehicles as well.. It is VERY reliable but the odd one has an issue.
Relax , enjoy your free loaner and the ES when it returns...for many more miles.....You said it all , they are picking up the car for you, that is service!!!!!

each dual heating control controls an actuator for a door to open and close may havea bad actuator motor for the passenger door should take to a shop where they can get body codes out of the system after market parts places like autozone cannot pull these codes most repair places can

maybe but warranties are usually bound by time as well eg;3 years 80,000 miles whichever comes first,i think its more likely you will need to pay for it as its 8 years old and they do expire through normal use,be careful what you read/hear online a lot of it is not 100% accurate

I have the exact same problem. I was told by Lexus that there is no repair and the entire unit would need to be replaced for $2400 !!!!

Has anyone found a fix or alternate solution yet?

Press in on the tab on the center of the blade and pull down perpendicular to the arm. To install, slide the new blade on the hook until it clicks.

I say a factory warranty is always worth the money, but read the fine print.
