I have a 2003 ford f 150 xtr 4.6 4x4. I scanned it, and came up with cyinder head, over tempeture, protection active. Could it be a faulty sensor?

check make sure transmission fluid not too low or could have plugged transmission filter.or code scan for faulty transmission fluid pressure sensor or transmission range sensor bad or out of adjustment.transmission could have failed.garage has to run fluid pressure test see if transmission failed or you could have faulty shift solenoid..

That is an indication of an overheating condition & your
in a Fail Safe Mode

Most likely cause is low coolant level
The injectors may be disabled to protect the motor

You could be low on oil

Any number of things that are not correct & could
cause overheating

Leaves in the front of condensor,etc

A bad cyl temp sensor

Outside tempeture sensor not accurate

You can replace the outside temp sensor ( on the center radiator support ). I have seen this correct some that are way off.
What are you using for a comparison & How far off is it ?

2003 F-150 air conditioner won't select panel vents. Air is cold but stays on defrost vents, for a long time. Eventually switches at stoplight. Any ideas?

Sounds like you may have some sort of vacuum leak to the control head or a faulty control head. Actuators are vacuum operated.

How to change air filter on 1987 Ford F 150 6 cyl

  1. There should be plastic intake housing with Air filter uinside. Usualy have 4 clips and sometimes screws. Open it up and filter should be in housing (square box). Do change breather filter also and PCV valve.

it is located in the engine pipe just down from the exhaust manifold which is bolted to the cylinder head cheers MAL
