If You Are Talking About The Door Chime There Are Two Ways To Do It One Is To Simply Unplug the Chime Two Is To Remove The Steering Columm cover and Unplug the black wire that is going to the side of the key switch I would Recommend This Method Because Unpluging The Chime Its Self Will Disable the Headlight on Switch off Warning As Well Removing The wire From Switch on column will disable key in switch door open only

Jeremy I did the black and pink wire last week and it does work. But I also have a problem with driving with the headlights on and the continous chime. Maybe the door-ajar ?

How does one disconnect the warning buzzer?

Is it a buzzer or chime? There is a chime module under the dash that can be unplugged. Put your ear down low to find it and unplug it

My 1998 Ford mustang v6 constantly chimes. My door is shut all the way my lights can be on or off and it still chimes. The only way it stops is if I turn off the car and remove the keys

It seems to me that the chime module is detecting a door open(possible bad switch).I came to this possibility because it doesn't matter if the lights are on/off.If you are looking for a cheap way to get rid of this annoyance, find the chime module and unplug it.The only way to efficiently diagnose and repair it would be with a wiring diagram.

The buzzer that shuts off when u shut the door isnt turning the buzzer off when he shuts the door how does he fix it its a 1996 mustang

when the door closes it contacts a switch on the pillar between hinges to close the circuit to turn off buzzer, it completes the ground side, usually they corrode and have to be cleaned or replaced

to remove they are installed with a nut on the back side and have one wire, make sure all is clean and attached

good luck

The driver side seat belt buzzer keeps ringing even with the belt buckled

Find and disconnect the seat belt buckle connector. short the two wires together on the harness side with a paper clip. If the chime/buzzer quits, the problem is in the buckle assembly. If the chime/buzzer is still going off, the problem is some where in the wiring or module.

1988 chevy siverado chime does not work when you leave headlights on

Try to look up the following for an aftermarket buzzer that installs in the fuse box:

http://automotiveelectronicaccessories.com/aeapn400.htm

I think it says $8.50 plus shipping and handling to fix your problem.

The buzzer sounds like a piezoelectric buzzer rather than a chime, but it works. I put one on my 1990 Cadillac Deville that had a chime that stopped working. Usually the chime that comes with the car when it goes bad is not repairable economically except by this aftermarket solution.

Good luck on this upgrade or repair of your left lights on chime.

How do you disconnect the chiming that comes for the key switch

locate your chime buzzer (under the dash) and disconnect it from the harness- although when you do this you wont have any reminders to turn off your lights or what not- only recomended if your chime has gone batty and wont STFU lol

Headlights reminder buzzer malfunctions.

First does the dome light come on when the drivers door is opened? If not check the door switch, if it is not working, the circuit is not completed to turn on the buzzer.
