Are you referring to a scratching noise or zzzZZZzzz noise that sounds like it is spinning up/down in speed?
either case it may be the cd player has gone bad. have you tried other multiple cd's?
since you don't mention how the year it may well be mechanically wornout

If you bought the car new then you should have a credit card that came with the owners manual. that card has your stereo's code on it. If you bought it used then that card was probably new in car when you got it and you will have to go to the Hyundai Dealership and show proof of ownership and they will run the VIN and get the code for you.....

Go to www.hmaservice.com and register( Vehicle by VIN). Afterward, you have access to shop manuals, service bulletins, wiring diagrams, etc. about your vehicle.

You could try resetting it by disconnecting the battery for a few minutes, or pulling the fuse.
The same thing happened to me. I took the dash out and got to the disc
changer and took the cd out... seems to be working fine now. This always happens when try to put a CD in before the player
can catch it. The trick is to press the LOAD button, wait for the GREEN
light, and then insert the CD. Try that.
This is a "mechanical error" and is probably due to a jammed disk. If the previous task dont work, once
you get it I think the only solution is to pull the audio unit and
replace it or repair it. Your dealer will have access to a hotline for specific audio related problems. Sorry I could'nt help you more!
Kirk, I am not aware of any fuse to remove to make player work. Try cleaning the lazer/head. Check the attached links,instruction and guides, Good luck
